I'd like to invite you to join me and the Veterans' Employment & Training Service at the "10,000 Strong" Veterans Career Summit on Tuesday, July 14th. We're making great progress toward our goal of hiring 10,000 veterans in Los Angeles, but there is still more to do.There are two ways to get involved:1) Pre-register now for a chance to win Dodgers tickets, USC Football tickets, and other prizes when you attend the event.2) Spread the word about the event on Facebook and on Twitter so we can reach every veteran looking for a job in Los Angeles.

AAs part of Mayor Eric Garcetti's commitment to end veterans homelessness, we are partnering with Goodwill Southern California and other key partners to host a Veteran Stand Down. The Stand Down will take place on May 20, 2015 from 9 am to 5 pm at Goodwill So Cal (342 N. San Fernando Rd. LA, CA 90031). 
The Stand Down centralizes vital resources for veterans who are seeking housing, employment services, VA benefits, legal assistance, etc. A flyer with more details is attached. Please feel free to forward the invitation to your veteran networks or any interested parties!

Marina Del Rey's 50th Anniversary."

LA’s Marina celebrated its golden birthday April 10 – 12 with a series of special events organized by the Los Angeles County of Department of Beaches & Harbors, in conjunction with the Marina del Rey Convention & Visitors Bureau and community stakeholders. What a weekend it was!

Thank you to all the sponsors, vendors, special guests and attendees that made Marina del Rey’s 50th Birthday Bash & LA’s MarinaFest Boat Show an overwhelming success. Thousands of attendees enjoyed the amazing concert by legendary band Three Dog Night, spectacular fireworks, tall ships, historic harbor tours, classic car show, boat parade, gourmet food trucks, and kids’ activities, making it a celebration to remember. Thank you for celebrating LA’s Marina!
